Our Pediatricians

Our Fabulous Nurse

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Riddell comes to us via Stanford University, where he earned his B.S. in Environmental Science.  He received his M.D. and Masters in Public health from Oregon Health & Science University with honors, and completed his pediatric internship and residency at the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics.  In Boston he was a Teaching Fellow at Boston Medical Center, a Boston University teaching hospital, and a Clinical Fellow at Children’s Hospital Boston, a Harvard University teaching hospital.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Riddell has a strong interest in pediatric environmental health and has a record of published research among underserved populations in Nepal, China, and the Philippines.

Travis has longstanding family ties to Jackson Hole and is a longtime hiker, biker, climber, and telemark skier with experience from the Teton Range to the Himalaya.  He considers himself privileged to call this spectacular place home.

Dr. Wheeler was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN.  She attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio where she received a B.A. in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience.  She worked for one year after college, then went on to medical school at The Ohio State University.  Dr. Wheeler met her husband, AJ Wheeler, on the first day of medical school.  He is an emergency department physician at St. John's hospital.  She did her pediatric internship and residency training at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

AJ, Keri and their then 18 month-old son, Mason, came to Jackson right after completing their residency training. She has been a part of the wonderful team at Jackson Pediatrics ever since then.  Since moving to Jackson her family has been blessed with the addition of their daughter, Ellie.  Along with work and spending as much time as she can with her family, Keri enjoys distance running, biking, backpacking, camping, and cooking.

Jackson Pediatrics is the oldest and largest exclusively pediatric medical practice in Teton County.  Our four board-certified pediatric physician specialists work with infants, children and adolescents through all phases of development.    We are devoted to the comprehensive care of children in sickness and in health.  At Jackson Pediatrics, your child will always be seen by a pediatrician. Our physicians are all on the medical staff of Saint John’s Medical Center, where we provide neonatal, pediatric, and intensive inpatient care.

Serving our community since 1972

Medical Students

Pediatricians at Jackson Pediatrics are on the clinical faculty of the University of Washington School of Medicine.  We host medical students at six week intervals through the WWAMI program.  Medical students are always directly supervised by our doctors, who always see every patient who comes in to the office.  It is always your choice whether to allow a medical student to see your child, but we appreciate your participation in our educational efforts.  WWAMI is a Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho cooperative program to help train students from western states without their own medical schools, aiming to return physicians to those rural states.

Raised in Helena Montana, Dr. Little did his undergraduate work at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, earning a BA in Biology before going to Denver Colorado, where he earned his MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his Pediatric Residency and served as Chief Resident at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison, Wisconsin.

Jim moved to Jackson in 1972 and started a solo pediatric practice which eventually became Jackson Pediatrics. Jim has been a competitive skier all his life, skiing for Helena High School and Dartmouth College Ski Teams. He has continued to compete in the Jackson Town Downhill.

Jim has watched several generations of kids, including his own, grow up in Jackson. He loves to travel, and has pursued opportunities to see many Total Solar Eclipses around the world. He used to be an avid climber but no longer likes to scare himself and is satisfied with his hiking, biking and photography.

Dr. Ridgway grew up in Denver, attended Tulane University in New Orleans and the University of Colorado Medical School. She did her Pediatric Residency at Mass General, in Boston, and then a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Boston Children's. During that time, her daughter Emily was born. After a two year visit to San Diego, where she worked at the Balboa Naval Hospital and son Eli was born, she returned to Mass General. There she was medical consultant to Perkins School for the Blind, medical consultant to the Eating Disorder Unit at MGH and instructor at Harvard Med School. Daughter Abigail was born before the family moved to Denver.

Lisa was an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the University of Colorado, Adolescent Department, before moving to Jackson in 1989 to work at Jackson Pediatrics. Since being in Jackson, she has been a visiting pediatrician in China, Romania, and Bellarus. For the year 2005 she was a locum tenens attending physician at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Endocrinology. She has been a member of the Pediatric Endocrinologists of the Rocky Mountains for the last 22 years and member of the Governor's Task Force Against Domestic Violence since 2003. She is a member of the Board of El Puente since 2006 and has recently volunteered as a pediatrician in Guatemala and Honduras and as a brick layer for Habitat for Humanity in Mexico.

Besides her children, her outside interests include pediatrics in third world countries, the elimination of child abuse locally and abroad, biking, and painting and gardening.

Nurse Ness moved from her home town of Dayton, Ohio to Jackson in 1978.  After floating the rivers, hiking the mountains, and enjoying all Jackson had to offer, she moved to Casper, WY.  There she studied nursing, graduating in 1982.  She lived in Riverton for four years, where she worked on the surgical floor and in the ICU.

Mary’s triumphant return to Jackson brought her to the Patient Care Unit at St. John’s Medical Center.  Dr. Little “discovered” her in 1986 and she has worked with him ever since!  Mary loves working with kids, and believes they are provided the best care Jackson has to offer.  She is married with three children, one cat, and one rat.
